What does Home Content Protection cover?

The Home Content Protection Plan covers all eligible products inside your home, whether they are purchased via Home Credit or not. This premium plan provides up to ₱50,000 of coverage for your valuables in case of damage or loss due to natural disasters or robbery.

Coverage for your Belongings

The list of items that you can declare under Home Content Protection coverage includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Appliances such as TV, refrigerator, microwave oven, and washing machine

Coverage in case of fire

On top of the ₱50,000 coverage against damages on your belongings, you may also claim the following in case of fire:

  • Up to ₱10,000 reimbursement for fire fighting expense in case a private company was hired to close out the fire
  • Up to ₱10,000 reimbursement for expenses related to temporary removal of items from the residence for repair or restoration
  • Up to ₱50,000 reimbursement of additional rental expenses

You can request for reimbursement in case of damages due to any of the following situations

  • Typhoon
  • Earthquake
  • Flood
  • Lightning
  • Landslide

  • Fire (including due to spontaneous combustion, if occurred without application of external heat force)
  • Riot, Strike, Malicious Damage
  • Robbery/Burglary that occurs inside declared areas of the residence
  • Smoke, Falling Aircraft, Vehicle Impact & Explosion

Please note that claim request approval varies from case to case based on the assessment of the service provider.

On the other hand, here are some items and damages that are not eligible for Home Content Protection coverage:

  • Valuables inside commercial/business structures such as sari-sari stores
  • Structural damages such as damage to the walls, roof, or windows of the house

  • Fire (including due to spontaneous combustion, if occurred without application of external heat force)
  • Riot, Strike, Malicious Damage
  • Robbery/Burglary that occurs inside declared areas of the residence
  • Smoke, Falling Aircraft, Vehicle Impact & Explosion

Coverage will be automatically terminated once the amount limit of the coverage is exhausted.

Simply notify the service provider, BPI MS! To file a service request, follow these 4 easy steps!

The provider usually asks for the contract number and your phone number to validate your claim. They may also send you a list of requirements that you have to submit to process your claim.(Download BPI MS KYC Form here)

Important Note: Service Provider may request additional requirements depending on claim evaluation. ​

BPI-MS, the service provider, will provide a claims decision usually within 2 working days after submission of all required documents.

Once your claim is approved, BPI-MS will send you a service resolution offer which will indicate the applicable coverage amount for the damage/case. If you agree with the amount, you may respond to the Claims Team to proceed with the claim payment.

In case you do not agree with the coverage amount offered or your claim is rejected, you may request for the Claims Team to assess the case further. Please note that they may request additional information and documentation to reprocess your claim.

BPI-MS will process your claim payment within 10 working days after your confirmation to their offer. Get up to ₱50,000 worth of assistance to start over or replace your damaged valuables.

How can I cancel the Protection? How can I cancel the Protection?

You can cancel the coverage anytime within the loan period by calling Home Credit Customer Service number, (02) 7753 5711.

However, please be advised that if you cancel 5 days or less before the due date, the device protection cost will still be included in your upcoming monthly payment bill and will be removed starting on the next due date.
